Karachi: The Vice Chancellor of Federal Urdu University Prof. Dr. Bajila Khan Shinwari has taken the first step towards the regular transfer of the ‘Principal Seat’ (Vice Chancellor Secretariat) from Karachi and for the first time in the 20-year history of the university, both campuses of Karachi (Abdul Haq and Gulshan Iqbal) have been appointed in-charges.

Two formal notifications have also been issued by the Acting Registrar of the Federal Urdu University, according to which the Vice-Chancellor has delegated most of his administrative, academic and financial powers to the respective campus in-charges, indicating that now the Vice-Chancellor The chancellor himself will likely oversee the affairs of the university from Islamabad and will practically be in charge of the two major and important campuses of the university.

According to the notification Dr. Shahid Iqbal in charge of Abdul Haq Campus and Dr. Muhammad Zahid in charge of Gulshan Iqbal Science Campus have been appointed.

In the notification issued in connection with the appointment of campus in-charges, a clause related to the assigned responsibilities states that in the absence of the Vice-Chancellor concerned, the concerned in-charge is responsible for establishing administrative and academic discipline as well as for academic, research, administrative and Will be able to use the financial resources according to the rules.

The relevant clause indicates that now the teaching and non-teaching staff in the university will report to the respective in-charges, similarly the notification further states that the in-charge campus will also direct the teachers, officers and employees there regarding examination and administrative matters. will be able to give

Within the financial powers of the University, the in-charges of the two campuses will also be able to spend the funds assigned by the Vice-Chancellor and delegate any authority to any officer of the campus.

It should be noted that the appointment of Dr. Bajila Khan Shinwari was done by former President Dr. Arif Alvi on the recommendation of the search committee a few days before his resignation. His name was on the third place among the names sent by the search committee. The notification was issued on February 27 and he joined as Vice Chancellor in Islamabad on March 4.

The appointment of campus in-charges and transfer of powers has been done exactly one month after the notification of the Vice-Chancellor.

It should be noted that just 4 days after their joining, through a notification, the selection board senate meeting of the 5 teachers who were promoted last year was canceled by wrongly attributing it and now the concerned teachers will be denied their promotions. Cancellation letters have also been issued.

So far, the salaries of the teachers of the Jamia, the house sale of January and February have yet to be issued, while after a few days the salary of March will also be paid. MQM Pakistan leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also holds the charge of the Federal Ministry of Education.
