Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced to reorganize the party in Punjab.

PTI Central Punjab General Secretary and Acting Punjab President Hamad Azhar announced the decision to reorganize the party across the province.

He highlighted the importance of having permanent officials in all the districts of Punjab. It should be noted that after becoming a member of the assembly, the capacity for many officials has been created.

Also, last week, Hamad Azhar resigned from the post of PTI Central Punjab General Secretary and Acting Central Punjab President citing legal challenges and said that he was facing obstacles in performing his duties.

In a letter written to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Secretary General Umar Ayub Khan, Hammad Azhar also mentioned the pressures he was facing, including involvement in several legal cases.

They had called for raids on their homes, harassment of families and the need to move them abroad for safety. Despite these difficulties, Hammad Azhar continued his work for the party from an unknown location since May 2023.

Hamad Azhar had said that after much deliberation, he decided to resign from the party post.

However, PTI refused to accept Hammad Azhar’s resignation and urged him to stick to his duties. Gohar revealed that he had discussed the matter with party founder Imran Khan, who had instructed him not to accept Hammad Azhar’s resignation.

Later, Hamad Azhar expressed his gratitude for Imran Khan’s trust. He had expressed his resolve that he would keep Imran Khan’s trust and continue to serve the party diligently.
