Other social media platforms are open, why only X is closed? Court

The Peshawar High Court has sought response from the Ministry of Interior and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on the petition filed against the closure of X (Twitter).

Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Waqar Ahmed of Peshawar High Court heard the petition filed against the closure of X (Twitter).

The court asked the petitioner that if other social media platforms are open, why only X has been closed?

The lawyer for the petitioner replied that X is a formal platform, which is used by all.

The court remarked that as to why X has been closed, the home ministry has not given reasons, it is necessary to seek answers from the home ministry and the PTA to find out why it has been closed.

The court adjourned the hearing while seeking response from the PTA, government and concerned institutions.
