Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Health has said that polio virus has been confirmed in environmental samples from 6 districts of the country.
According to the data released by the Ministry of National Health, polio virus has been found in the samples of Quetta, Chaman, Peshawar, Korangi district of Karachi, Karachi South and Mastung.
The statement said that the number of positive environmental samples in Pakistan this year has reached 65 and the virus found in all the positive samples is from across the border.
The Ministry of National Health has said that the polio virus targets children under 5 years of age, parents must give their children polio vaccine during every campaign.

It should be noted that the federal government has already decided to conduct a special anti-polio campaign from March 25 to March 28 in three provinces.
Special polio campaign will be conducted in districts with positive sewage samples, outbreak response polio campaign will be conducted in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, more than 82 lakh children will be vaccinated against polio in 26 districts.
According to the report, a special polio campaign will be conducted in 11 districts of Balochistan, 8 districts of Sindh and 7 districts of Punjab.
