Shanghai: A new study has revealed that people who experience intermittent fasting are more likely to die from cardiovascular disease.
The findings were presented at the American Heart Association meeting in Chicago and focused on the most popular type of intermittent fasting, which involves eating for eight hours or less and Fasting is done for at least 16 hours.
The study examined data from 20,000 Americans who underwent intermittent fasting, who were examined from 2003 to 2018.
The analysis found that people who ate within those eight hours were 91 percent more likely to die from cardiovascular disease than those who followed a traditional diet.
The scientists found that this increased risk also included those with chronic illnesses or cancer. People with heart disease who restricted their eating habits to eight hours were 66 percent more likely to die from heart disease or stroke.
On the other hand, cancer patients who followed this regimen were more likely to die from cardiovascular disease than those who ate conventionally.
The study’s lead author, Victor Wenze Zhong, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in China, said that the results of the study suggest that people who have been fasting for a long time (especially those with cardiovascular disease or cancer) ) They should be very careful.
According to the findings, more attention is being paid to ‘what people are eating’ than when they are eating.
