Karachi: An AIDS prisoner committed suicide by jumping from the first floor of District Malir Jail.
According to the police, 30-year-old prisoner Aziz Khan Jadoon ended his life by jumping from the first floor of District Malir Jail.
A few days ago, the prisoner who died had tested positive for AIDS, due to which he was restless in the jail and was addicted to drugs. He was arrested red-handed by the Railway City Police.
At the time he was arrested, he was stealing goods from a bogie. It is suspected that the prisoner jumped because he was not intoxicated.
During the month of Ramadan, prisoners are let out of the barracks in the jail from 8am to 10am. As soon as Aziz Khan was taken out, he jumped.
Provincial Prisons Minister Ali Hasan Zardari has ordered the IG Jail to conduct a full investigation into the incident and submit a report.
