Senate Election;  The preliminary list of candidates from Balochistan will be released today

Quetta: The preliminary list of names of candidates for 11 seats of Balochistan in Senate will be released today.

According to the provincial election commissioner, the scrutiny of the nomination papers by the returning officer will be done till March 19 and appeals can be filed against the approval or rejection of the nomination papers till March 21.

The Appellate Tribunal will decide on the appeals by March 25, after which the revised list of candidates will be published on March 26. Last date for withdrawal by candidates is March 27.

Polling for the Senate election will be held on April 2 from 9 am to 4 pm in the Balochistan Assembly.

It should be noted that the 11 vacant seats in the Senate include seven generals, 2 women and 2 technocrats. 36 candidates from different political and religious parties have submitted nomination papers from Balochistan.

PML-N’s Aurangzeb Khetran, Rahat Jamali, Agha Shahzeb Durrani, Syed Ul Hasan Mandukhel, Rahila Hameed Durrani and others submitted nomination papers while People’s Party’s Chingiz Jamali, Hasna Bano, Umar Gurgej, Bilal Mandukhel, Tariq Musuri Bugti submitted their nomination papers. Done.

The joint candidate of the People’s Party and the National Party, Jan Muhammad Bilidi, while the joint candidate of the People’s Party and the Awami National Party, Amil Wali Khan, also submitted their nomination papers.

The papers of JUI’s Ahmed Khan Khalji, Maulana Abdul Wasi, Bibi Kulsoom, Amanullah Kunrani and Qari Rahmatullah were submitted.

Papers of independent candidates Dr Hussain Islam, Ejaz Ahmed and Sana Jamali were also submitted. The papers of Balochistan Awami Party’s Anwar Haq Kakar, Kahida Babar, Mubeen Khalji and others were submitted. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Zahid Akhtar Baloch, Dr. Attaur Rahman and Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi submitted their nomination papers.
