Karachi: In Karachi, government land worth trillions of rupees has been handed over to influential people, land mafia and builders through forgery and alteration of official records.
According to sources, the investigation into illegal allotment initiated by the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) has been stopped due to the pressure of the influential mafia.
The investigation team formed on the instructions of the former caretaker chief minister of Sindh was given the task of investigating the illegal allotment of thousands of acres of government land, alteration of official records and large-scale forgery in the four districts of Kokrachi, West, East, Malir and Kemari, while the investigation team only 5500 acres of land in Manghopir Tehsil of Gharbi District has been determined forgery.

The committee was asked to investigate cases of illegal allotment, fraudulent entries in records of rights to benefit private individuals, builders and land mafia and falsification of revenue records and deliberate destruction of records.
The team examined the allotment of land made by the Department of Land Utilization from 2012 to 2023, despite a ban by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, based on the apprehension of possible tampering and falsification of property records as per the details. Of Pakistan, during the hearing of several constitutional petitions, sumoto proceedings, Sindh Government, Department of Land Utilization had banned the mutation, allotment, transfer of government land till reconstruction of revenue records.
In the investigation, the issue of making thousands of acres of government land in their name in exchange for huge bribes has also come up.
In the investigations carried out by the investigation team, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Fattah Panhoor, Nazir Abro, Mushtaq Jatoi, Asad Abbasi, Javed Larak, Mukhtiarkar Abdul Haq Chavro, Asif Soomro, Pervez Malik, Shamshad Ali, Tapidar Salim Raza, Khan Mohammad Imrani, Haq Nawaz Ajan, Mumtaz Kallor, Amanullah Nandwani and others have been held responsible for the loss of billions of rupees to government property through forgery.
