Senate Election: MQM becomes Faisal Vawda's proposal and supporter

Karachi: The Election Commission received a total of 35 forms for the Senate elections in Sindh.

According to Express News, the stage of receiving and submitting nomination papers for 7 general 2 women, 2 technocrat and 1 minority seats of the Senate in Sindh has been completed. The preliminary list of Senate candidates will be released today.

Independent candidate Faisal Vayoda is also included among those who submitted papers, whose proposal and supporter are members of Sindh Assembly of MQM. On the nomination form, Member of Sindh Assembly Ali Soharri and Adil Askari are endorsers and proposers.

Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, Muhammad Abu Bakr, Muhammad Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, Shabbir Ahmed Qaim Khani, Aamir Waliuddin Chishti, Humayun Sultan, Ashraf Ali Jatoi, Syed Masroor Ahsan, Syed Kazim Ali Shah, Sarfraz Rajar among those who submitted their nomination papers for the general seats of the Senate. , Nadeem Ahmed Bhutto, Javed Ahmed Nayab, Dost Ali Jaisar, Abdul Wahab, Gunwar Ali Khan Asran, Aamir Dhamrah, Ali Tahir, Mir Raja Khan Jakharani, Shahbaz Zaheer and Nighat Mirza.

Whereas Zameer Hussain Ghamro, Sarmad Ali, Karim Ahmed Khawaja, Manzoor Ahmed Bhatta, Abdul Wahab for the seat of Technocrat. Quratul Ain Marri, Rubina Qaim Khani, Yasmeen Dadabhai, Musarat Nazir Niazi, Sabina Parveen, Meha Jabeen Riaz are candidates for the women’s seat and Poonjumal, Surendra Valasai and Bhagwan Das are candidates for the minority seat.

The preliminary list of candidates will be released on March 17, the nomination papers will be scrutinized by March 19, appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed by March 21, and the decisions of the tribunal on these appeals by March 25. The revised list of candidates will be released on March 26. Candidates can withdraw till March 27. Polling for these 12 Senate seats will be held in the Sindh Assembly on April 2.
