Quetta: Another case of polio has come to light in Balochistan, in which a 4-year-old child became paralyzed.

The National Health Organization has confirmed a polio case in a child from Balochistan’s Chaman district and said that a child has been paralyzed by wild polio virus type one.
Polio virus was found in a 52-month-old child from Chaman Tehsil. The child suffered a stroke on February 29.

Polio virus has been found in 10 positive samples reported from Chaman since October 2023. This is the second polio case from Pakistan in 2024 and the first from Chaman in almost 4 years. The first case of 2024 was reported on March 14 from Dera Bugti.
