After social networking site Twitter, users of Facebook and Instagram will also pay a BlueTick account fee.
Meta CEO and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg announced on Sunday that Facebook and Instagram users will have to pay BlueTick’s fees.
Mark Zuckerberg says the service will initially launch in Australia and New Zealand this week.
He said that you can get your account verified through government ID card, users above 18 years of age are eligible for verified subscription of Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Meta’s CEO says the move will improve security and authenticated accounts on social media apps.
It should be noted that the subscription service will start at $11.99 per month for Instagram and Facebook users using the web, while iPhone users will pay a fee of $14.99.
