Inauguration of road made from plastic waste in Karachi

Karachi: A road made from plastic waste was inaugurated under the PSO Eco Street project adjacent to PSO House.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and Pakistan State Oil MD & CEO Syed Muhammad Taha inaugurated PSO Eco Street. This initiative is part of PSO’s ongoing efforts to promote a sustainable plastic road, reduction of plastic waste and environment-friendly infrastructure.

Under this initiative, 49,448 square feet long conventional road was converted into a plastic road using 5,000 kg of recycled plastic waste from empty bottles and cans of lubricants collected from the lubricant manufacturing terminal of PSO in Karachi.

The project aims to significantly reduce the impact of plastic on the Earth’s environment and reap the benefits of sustainable infrastructure.

PSO’s Eco Street Project is not only recycling plastic waste but also setting new standards for environmentally responsible construction while increasing road sustainability.

On this occasion, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza said that this project will not only beautify our city but also reflects the responsible attitudes and role of protecting the environment. We appreciate PSO’s commitment to sustainability and greening of urban areas as a beacon for other corporate entities to encourage them to invest in the development of society.

PSO MD & CEO Syed Muhammad Taha emphasized the importance of caring for the environment around us and said that this initiative is an example of PSO’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. We remain steadfast in our commitment to provide innovative solutions to address environmental challenges while creating value.
