Karachi: A sensational inquiry report into the controversial Matriculation Board Karachi 2023 examination results has come out, according to which the entire examination team was involved while departmental action has been recommended against the responsible officers.

According to Express News, the results of hundreds of children were allegedly changed and given the same marks in the matriculation examinations in 2023, after which an inquiry committee was formed, the report of which was received by caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir. It has been done and the Caretaker Chief Minister has approved the recommendations.

The Inquiry Committee, headed by Secretary School Education Dr. Shireen Mustafa, completed the inquiry and briefed the caretaker Chief Minister on its recommendations, stating that the entire examination team was found guilty of manipulation of the results and negligence, including the Controller, The Deputy Controller, Assistant Controller and the IT team were all found irresponsible.

The committee has also recommended further investigation by anti-corruption into the irregularities and departmental action against the guilty officers of the board.

The report said that during the investigation, none of the employees were found to be serious while giving the statement, no one could tell what was the actual result and how many changes were made.

The Caretaker Chief Minister was informed that original records were not provided to the committee for comparison with declared results, Deputy Controller Khalid Ehsan was in office during the manipulation of results.

The committee said that the chairman board said that Khalid Ehsan is directly related to the results process, Khalid Ehsan has also been appointed as a member of the investigation committee.

According to the report, the IT wing and computer wing of the board were completely neglected by the board administration, all kinds of manipulation and mismanagement started due to the negligence of the matriculation board.

It was further informed that the students had enrolled under the old software last year, the new software calculated the total marks of the articles published this year and added them to the gazette, due to the mismatch between the two softwares, further grades were given to the gazette. I have not been included, this process is a clear evidence of incompetence and the Board management has completely failed to satisfy in this regard.

The report of the inquiry committee stated that there was no training given to the teachers involved in the examination of the examination papers, which resulted in large number of errors, many times there were major irregularities on the part of the board office management.

Citing irregularities, it was said that before the new system the company and board management should have given full training to the staff, the matriculation board management failed to resolve the issue and could not satisfy the committee.

According to the inquiry committee, proper complete gazette was not available for the implementation of the records of the schemes, often the students had to go round several times for the mark sheet, the controller, deputy controller, assistant controller, examiner and IT team were responsible for the errors. Is.

The committee has recommended that departmental action be taken against all the officers responsible for the process, the chairman board has failed to reform, run the old and new system.

The inquiry committee informed the caretaker chief minister that training of new recruits and staff is more important, roles and responsibilities have to be held accountable with checks and balances, controller of examinations is an important post, so the best officer should be assigned this job. .
