Karachi: The three-day Faiz Festival organized in the memory of eminent poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz concluded with its literary and cultural achievements.
According to Express News, the literary and cultural festival organized at the Alhamra Arts Council of Lahore was attended by important personalities from the country as well as abroad.
The fair was organized by the Faiz Foundation Trust in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council and during the Faiz Mela, the Alhamra building was decorated with banners based on Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s pictures and words.
During the three-day festival, more than two hundred experts from different fields of arts, including literature, politics, art, culture, theater and drama, expressed their views in different sessions.
An exhibition was also organized at the Alhamra Art Gallery on this occasion while book stalls were also set up on the occasion.
A stall was set up for citizens to write letters to Faiz, while dance, Kathak dance, drum performance and Qawwali were also organized in the festival.
On the last day of the festival, Kishore Naheed, Iftikhar Arif, actress Sajal Ali, Samia Mumtaz, Sania Saeed, Muniza Hashmi, famous poet from India Javed Akhtar, Anwar Shivrat and Khursheed Rizvi among others expressed their views in different sessions.
Faiz Ahmad Faiz’s poetry, his biography, storytelling, country’s political, economic situation, literature and culture were discussed on various topics, while a total of 25 sessions were held on the last day.
