Action against retired judges is not the jurisdiction of the Council, Mazahir Naqvi's letter

Islamabad: Former Judge Supreme Court Justice Retired Mazahir Naqvi says that according to the constitution, law and court decisions, action against retired judges is not the jurisdiction of the council.

In a letter to the Secretary Judicial Council, Justice Retired Mazhar Naqvi said that the proceedings of the Council are continuing despite my resignation, while I resigned on January 10, which was accepted by the President.

In the letter, he said that the notification of acceptance of my resignation has also been published in the official gazette, so the Supreme Judicial Council’s order of January 12 is illegal, the Supreme Judicial Council is exceeding its authority in this matter.

Justice Retired Mazhar Naqvi said that I am constitutionally and legally not bound to be a part of this action of the Council.
