Karachi: The Accountability Court has sent the reference of corruption of 17 billion rupees against the leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former Federal Minister Dr. Asim Hussain and other accused back to Chairman NAB.
According to Express News, important progress has been made in the reference of corruption of 17 billion rupees against Dr. Asim Hussain and others and the accountability court of Karachi sent the reference against 10 accused including Dr. Asim Hussain back to Chairman NAB.
The reference against Dr. Asim and others was under hearing for 8 years in the accountability court, in which other named accused included Iqbal Z. Ahmed, Shoaib Warsi, Zaheer Siddiqui and others.
According to NAB, the accused are accused of corruption of 17 billion in gas contracts.
It should be noted that the accused had taken a stand in the application filed in the Accountability Court that the Accountability Court does not have the authority to hear the reference after the amendment of the NAB Ordinance.
