GDA and Jamaat-e-Islami announced a joint struggle against fraud

Karachi: The Grand Democratic Alliance and Jamaat-e-Islami announced a joint struggle against rigging in Sindh and Karachi.

The delegation led by Vice President of Grand Democratic Alliance Dr. Safdar Abbasi and General Secretary Sardar Abdul Rahim met with Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Tuesday night at Noorhaq Institute, in which they will take action against the worst rigging and mandate theft in the general elections. There was a discussion regarding the plan of action.

Jamaat-e-Islami was invited by GDA to participate in the protest sit-in at Hyderabad Toll Plaza, which Hafiz Naeemur Rahman accepted and assured to participate in the sit-in.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said in a media talk that People’s Party committed a huge rigging by occupying the polling station in Sindh and captured the mandate. We do not accept fake results of form 47, results should be issued as per form 45.

Hafiz Naeem said that before the elections, those who make rhetoric against each other are unconditionally supporting the government and gaining power. The worst drama was created in the name of elections and the seats were distributed. We will continue to protest against the worst rigging and mandate theft.

Dr. Safdar Abbasi said that he fully supports Jamaat-e-Islami’s position regarding rigging and stealing the mandate. Hafiz Naeemur Rahman’s decision not to take his seat in Karachi is a slap on the face of Election Commission. The constitutional and democratic identity of the country has been violated in the general elections.

Safdar Abbasi said that the decisions written in the national and provincial assembly elections have been announced. 54 seats and 75 seats are claiming the post of Prime Minister. The way the candidates of the People’s Party won is a joke in the name of democracy. In the interior of Sindh, our candidates have been defeated even with one and a half lakh votes.

The GDA leader said that DGA has decided to stage the first dharna at GT Road Toll Plaza Hyderabad. He is grateful to Jamaat-e-Islami for accepting the invitation. If Jamaat-e-Islami invites us to our sit-in, we will accept it.

In response to a question, Sardar Abdul Rahim said that we did not have any alliance with MQYM but seat adjustment. We demand the annulment of the entire election regardless of who won.
