Renowned Indian writer, scenographer and poet Javed Akhtar says that people in India still love both Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Urdu.
Javed Akhtar has come to Pakistan to participate in the 7th edition of the ongoing Faiz Festival in Lahore.
In a special conversation with Geo News in Lahore, he said that there is a magic in the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and this magic will show its effect wherever he goes.
Javed Akhtar says that wherever there are people in the world who know and understand Urdu and Hindi, people love Faiz’s poetry.
He further said that poetry in Hindi language is as popular in India as it is in Urdu language and the wonder is that even if people in India do not understand some words of Urdu poetry, they have so much melodiousness that they People like it and people start looking for its meaning in Hindi.
Javed Akhtar also says that people in India have neither left Urdu nor Faiz, there love for Faiz Ahmed Faiz is still there.
