Karachi: In Constituency 232 of the National Assembly, ballot papers were taken away from the presiding officer.

At Polling Station No. 37 Pakistan Public School, the armed men of the political party beat up the election staff and stole many ballot papers and escaped.

The Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh took notice of the snatching of ballot papers from the Presiding Officer in NA 232 Korangi Polling Station No. 37 and sought a report from the concerned Returning Officer and District Monitoring Officer.

After the incident, additional police and rangers have been deployed outside the polling station. The Provincial Election Commissioner has directed the police to take strict action against the involved elements. He said that transparency of elections will not be compromised.

Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Waseem Mirza from PS-90 accused MQM-Pakistan of stealing the ballot paper.
