Lahore: The Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab has booked Muslim League (N) candidate Attaullah Tarar and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Provincial Assembly for violating the election code of conduct and buying votes in NA-127 and PP-160 constituencies of Lahore. Notices were issued to candidate Misbah-ur-Rehman.

According to the statement issued by the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner in Lahore, on the orders of the Election Commission and the Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab, taking action against the violation of the code of conduct in Lahore, Muslim League (N) candidate for NA-127 Lahore Attaullah Tarar and Notices have been issued to Pakistan Peoples Party candidate for PP-160 Mian Misbahur Rehman.

The notice states that the notices have been issued in the context of alleged vote buying and selling between Muslim League (N) and PPP in Lahore and the attack on the election office.

The District Monitoring Officer has summoned the candidates of both the parties on February 5 with documentary evidence.

On the other hand, the candidate of Muslim League (N) in Model Town 180H Lahore, Attaullah Tarar, along with Asad Khokhar, Shehbaz Khokhar and Mian Imran Javed, accused in a joint press conference that PPP wants to bring chaos and corruption into politics in Lahore. I am not seeing any meeting of PPP, which has no campaign and no attendance and if they will buy votes by putting a few coins, then they forget that this is not money laundering.

Attaullah Tarar said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari sits with a laptop and says that he needs so much money for 50,000 votes, father give him the money.

He said that we are running the election campaign with restraint and patience, then the news started, the buying of votes has started, people are taking an oath on the holy book by taking an identity card and paying 2500 rupees to vote for the PPP. But when the matter got out of the bus, there were long queues, the management was contacted to stop them.

Attaullah Tarar said that the application has also been submitted to the Election Commission which will be heard on Monday.

He said that Muslims were being given oath on Surah Yasin and Bible by paying two and a half thousand rupees, ID cards and receipts were being given from laptops, religious books were used to vote by holding hands.

He said that three people were handed over to the police who were buying votes, the Election Commission should take notice of the buying of votes because it is a violation of the Election Act.

Attaullah Tarar, while reacting to the video on his behalf about buying votes by giving money, said that I have seen a video, if it is mine, may the severest punishment of Allah be upon me, regarding the issue of buying my votes. In the video, everyone is wearing a mask, Bilawal Bhutto has a challenge, if it is proved that my people are buying votes, then I will withdraw from the election.

The Muslim League (N) candidate said that the votes of vote sellers cannot be cast, they are being watched and action will be taken against those whose votes have been bought. I will stop it with my hand. Therefore, the Election Commission should immediately take notice and stop the buying of votes.
