The anti-terrorism court of Lahore annulled the order declaring former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry as an advertisement.
Judge Muhammad Naveed Iqbal of the Anti-Terrorism Court issued the decision on Fawad Chaudhry’s request. Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Zafar Iqbal Advocate presented arguments.
In the application, it was stated that Fawad Chaudhry was declared admissible in two cases on the basis of non-appearance. In Case No. 366/23 of Model Town Police Station on 9th December 2023 and in Case No. 367/23 on 12th December 2023 it was declared as advertisement. Fawad Chaudhry is incarcerated in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi since November 4, 2023 and the accused in custody cannot be classified as an advertisement.
In the petition, it was requested that the court declare the order of declaration of advertisement null and void in both the cases.
On the other hand, the court ordered the simultaneous arrest of Fawad Chaudhry in all the cases registered against him and also directed the May 9 JIT chief to provide the details of all the cases.
The petition stated that the police had registered various cases after May 9 and from one case to another, arrests were made on bail, from one case to another.
It was requested that the court order to provide the details of the cases of May 9 and 10 and to order the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry in all the cases registered together.
