Karachi: After 18 years, a court in Karachi sentenced the accused named in the murder case to life imprisonment with hard labor.
According to the details, the West Session Court in the Karachi City Court sentenced the accused involved in the murder case to life imprisonment with rigorous imprisonment in 2006 and also imposed a fine of 5 lakh rupees.
In the judgment, the court said that for non-payment of fine, another 6 months of imprisonment will have to be served. Apart from this, according to the prosecution, the accused named in the case Qayyum is still absconding, the accused had fired on the victim and his friends in Baldiya Town.
According to the prosecution, Jameel was killed in the firing while his friend Waseem was injured, more than 7 witnesses appeared in court against the accused, the accused remained absconding for 15 years after the incident, while the accused Iqbal applied for bail before arrest in the Sindh High Court in 2021. was filed.
However, the court rejected the request and sent the accused to jail. Prosecutor Arif Sattai said that during the trial, the lawyer of the accused fully cross-examined the witnesses, but nothing came out in favor of the accused. A case of the incident was registered at Baldia Town police station.
