Rawalpindi: IG Prisons Punjab Mian Farooq Nazir visited Adiala Jail, where the founding chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf met and expressed his satisfaction over the facilities provided in the jail.
According to the details, IG Prisons Punjab visited the Adiala Jail and reviewed the security, court security and arrangements regarding the ongoing trial in Adiala.
Mian Farooq Nazir also inspected the welfare measures taken for the prisoners, prisoners, deportees, juveniles and women’s wards and after listening to the problems of the prisoners issued orders to solve them on the spot.
The IG Jails issued orders to increase the facility of telephone calls from once to twice a week on the request of prisoners, while on the request of prisoners from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two hours of Pashto daily on TV cable. Also gave orders to operate the channel.
He directed that smart utility stores should be opened inside the jail for the convenience of the prisoners, where tea, coffee, coredrink, bakery and other items will be available from morning to evening.
IG Prisons Punjab Mian Farooq Nazir inspected the wards of jailed political leaders PTI founder Imran Khan, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry and met them and provided them with A detailed review of the facilities was also done.
According to the jail authorities, Imran Khan and other political leaders expressed complete satisfaction with the facilities provided in the jail as per the law and the behavior of the jail officers and employees. During the visit of the IG prisons, no political leader raised any complaint regarding the cooperation, provision of medical facilities and behavior of the prison officers and employees.
