The life sentence of the accused of burning his wife to death has been annulled

Karachi: The Sindh High Court annulled the life sentence of the accused for burning his wife to death.

The court allowed the appeal of the accused in the murder case and quashed the life sentence. A single bench of Justice KK Agha passed the verdict on the appeal of the accused against the sentence in the murder case after 4 years, in which The court annulled the sentence of life imprisonment.

The court said in the verdict that the allegations leveled against the criminal are not proved by the evidence. The trial court did not give the accused an opportunity to clear himself at many stages. The postmortem of the deceased was not allowed by Nazra Khatun.

According to the prosecution, Mohammad Hafeez was sentenced to life imprisonment by the trial court in 2019, in which the accused was accused of burning his wife Faiqa Fatima to death. A case against the accused was registered in 2016 at Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station on the complaint of his mother-in-law Nazra Khatun.
