ISLAMABAD (Czechangez Khan Jadoon): Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Iran during a telephonic talk agreed to restore bilateral ties to a high level, announces the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad.
“FMs had a very good phone talk to restore relations to a high level. hoping that with my colleague’s help @rahimhayat, we can set a new record in de-escalation for the two brotherly & friendly countries of 🇮🇷&🇵🇰 by returning the ambassadors to the capitals & mutual visits of FMs,” tweets Iranian Embassy, while acknowledging the positive role of Rahim Hayat Qureshi Additional Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, who previously served as Ambassador to Tehran.
According to details, Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani spoke with the Foreign Minister of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian today, during which both sides expressed desire to collaborate based on spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
Reportedly, it was emphasized that respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty must underpin this cooperation.
Pakistan ‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a press statement , also confirmed that the two Foreign Ministers agreed that working level cooperation and close coordination on counter terrorism and other aspects of mutual concern should be strengthened. They also agreed to de-escalate the situation.
During the telephonic conversation, the return of Ambassadors of the two countries to their respective Capitals was also discussed.
