Karachi: In view of the possible spread of Corona in the province, the caretaker health minister has established a provincial task force.
In the 11-member committee, Director General Health Sindh Dr. Waqar Mahmood has been appointed as the chairman and Associate Professor Aga Khan Hospital Dr. Faisal Mahmood has been appointed as the co-chairman.
Dr. Saqib Sheikh, Dr. Muhammad Asif, Dr. Sara Salman, Dr. Muniba Ahsan, Dr. Osama Khalid are among the members of the committee, while the Chief Technical Officer of the Health Department, Project Director EPI and one member will be appointed.
In addition, Shabbir Ali Babar has been appointed as the focal person for media, the provincial task force team will report to the health minister, provide technical assistance to the health department in case of possible spread of corona virus and prepare an emergency response plan. I will outline specific measures to be taken in case of an increase in Corona.
The Provincial Task Force will develop surveillance systems to ensure effective implementation of Corona prevention, control measures, establish communication protocols to disseminate information to the public and other stakeholders, and coordinate with other provinces and NGOs. It will promote cooperation and coordination.
The Task Force will ensure the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive vaccination strategy.
