Karachi: A businessman was robbed by motorcycle-riding suspects dressed in police uniform near Jamila Street Lyari Express in Napier area.
According to the case filed by the Napier Police, Bawardi police officers riding a motorcycle near Lyari Express robbed a businessman of more than two lakh rupees.
The police have registered a case of robbery against businessman Mohammad Hasan Nafees under charge number 24/12 under Sections 392, 397, 342, 170, 34/171. He was coming from Liaquatabad on a motorcycle to Timber Market to buy firewood when he was stopped by two police officers at Garden Jameela Street.
The businessman told the police that the accused asked for the documents of the motorcycle, so I told them that the documents of the vehicle had been forgotten, after which the alleged policemen took me and my employee to Sansanan near Lyari Expressway through Garden Chowk. And started our search.
He said that 1 lakh 70 thousand rupees were taken out of my pocket and 63 thousand rupees from the employee’s pocket. According to the text of the case, when the businessman asked for the money back, the policemen showed their weapons and said to leave, otherwise they will kill you as robbers. After that, the two officials escaped.
The police say that they are investigating the incident, but the officials involved have not been identified yet.
