Karachi: The biggest robbery of 2024 took place near Weta Chowrangi in the industrial area of Korangi where the robbers fled after snatching Rs 80 lakh from the businessman.
SHO Korangi Ubaidullah said that the incident of robbery took place on Thursday morning, in which the owner of the factory was taking Rs. When the vehicle got stuck in a traffic jam near Chowrangi, the chasing robbers demanded money from it and snatched it away.
The police officer said that the police have identified a dacoit involved in the incident as Saeed Alam with the help of closed circuit camera footage and NADRA records and according to the police crime record, more than 14 different cases have been registered against the dacoit involved in the robbery. Crime cases have been registered in various police stations and the police have also registered a case of the said incident.
He said that the footage also revealed that when the businessman came to the bank, the two robbers followed him, in which the identified robber Saeed Alam is seen taking tokens inside the bank.
The SHO said that when the businessman started to return after withdrawing the money, the robbers chased him again and snatched the cash as soon as they got the chance and fled.
Two civilians injured in robbery resistance
In different areas of the city, robbers shot and injured 2 citizens on resistance during robbery, 25-year-old Tariq Naeem was shot on resistance by motorcycle-riding robbers near Lyari office in Sector 36 of Sirjani Town area. Injured.
The robbers fled from the spot after robbing the citizen, while the citizen who was injured in the firing was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Also near Prince Bakery area of Model Colony, motorcycle-riding bandits shot and injured 25-year-old Tariq Zahid on resisting during the robbery, the injured was taken to Jinnah Hospital for immediate medical assistance.
