Karachi: In view of the rapid increase in the gaming and animation market worldwide, it has been decided to provide free animation and gaming courses to students in Karachi.
In this regard, the Center of Excellence for Gaming and Animation is being started in Karachi, for which a memorandum of understanding will be signed between Ignite National Technology Fund and NED University under the leadership of Federal Minister IT Aminul Haq.
Addressing the ceremony on this occasion, Aminul Haq said that the Center of Excellence Gaming and Animation is going to be established in NED University with two and a half billion rupees in a short period of 6 months. The latest animation and gaming courses will be conducted free of charge.
Aminul Haque said that the State of the Art Center of Excellence and Animation and Gaming to be established at NED University on 13,000 square feet will cost one billion and 50 crore rupees and will be operational in about 6 months.
Aminul Haque said that the gaming and animation industry in the world has a volume of more than 500 billion dollars, of which Pakistan’s share is only 50 million dollars. The reason is that like many areas of IT, it has always been neglected in the past.
The Federal Minister of IT said that 50 companies working in gaming and animation will be provided space in this center, so that they can do their work with better technology and the students will be taught their work methods. You will also get a practical opportunity to know.
Aminul Haq said that Pakistan’s first modern virtual production studio is also being established with this center at a cost of one billion rupees. From this studio, our talented people will be able to produce world-class gaming and animation with the help of the latest cameras and equipment. Through this center and studio, Pakistan will be able to turn its small footprint into a big one in the gaming and animation industry.
Vice Chancellor Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi termed the establishment of the Center of Excellence as the best initiative for the youth of Pakistan and said that as an educational institution we recognize the importance of developing creativity and technical skills among our youth.
Sarosh Lodhi said that the gaming and animation industry is a dynamic and growing sector and the establishment of the Center of Excellence will create vast opportunities for employment and huge foreign exchange earnings in Pakistan with the help of advanced technology.
