The Indian militants involved in the Samjhauta Express blasts are still roaming freely after 16 years and the families are stumbling for justice.
On February 18, 2007, more than 40 Pakistanis were killed in the explosions in the Samjhauta Express coming from Delhi to Lahore. 16 years have passed since the terrorist incident, but the families are still waiting for justice.
Swami Aseemanand, who confessed to the brutal crime, was also acquitted, which is a testimony to the fact that the BJP government is closed to Hindutva ideology and that the Modi government has no practice of punishing terrorists.
It should be noted that Swami Aseemanand has been involved in many incidents of terrorism against Muslims including the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Mecca Masjid and has been given a free rein in the Hindutva-protector Modi government.
After 16 years of the terrorist incident, human rights organizations have demanded that the Modi government fulfill its legal obligations to arrest and punish the perpetrators of the blasts.
Keep in mind that ever since the Modi government came to power, India is becoming a safe haven for terrorists. Criminals arrested in old terrorism cases are being released.
7 criminals who gang-raped Muslim Balqis Bano and brutally killed 7 members of her family in Gujarat riots were released. Apart from this, the killers of Rajiv Gandhi have also been released.
