The case related to recruitment in General Post Office Islamabad was heard by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, in which the court raised questions on the recruitment of children of government employees on preferential basis. .
During the hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan remarked that does the Prime Minister have the authority to change the policy by himself? Why are charitable policies made to give jobs to the children of government employees on a preferential basis?
The Chief Justice said that the Constitution has been flouted by making such a policy. Take courage and write to the Prime Minister that this policy is wrong. Why did only children of government employees get jobs on preferential basis? Are the rest of the children not Pakistani?
The Additional Attorney General told the court that this policy was made during the previous government, on which the Chief Justice of Pakistan said that then say that the previous government was above the constitution. Such a policy should be uprooted and thrown out. Constitution is above all else. The Additional Attorney General requested the government to take instructions on the matter.
Later, the court issued a notice to the Attorney General and adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
