The case of PTI cannot be heard here, it should go to the Supreme Court, the election commission lawyer
The Peshawar High Court reserved its decision on the Election Commission’s review petition related to the PTI intra-party elections.
In the High Court, a hearing was held on the petition for review of the High Court order of the Election Commission in the PTI intra-party elections and election symbol case.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawyer Qazi Anwar argued that the order of December 26 has not yet been implemented.
Justice Ejaz Khan remarked that this means that the injunction did not create any difficulty for him, you have two points that the Election Commission cannot come to withdraw the injunction. The second point is what are the difficulties in holding elections with this order.
The Election Commission’s lawyer said that they have taken an injunction against our order, we have the right to file a writ against it, their case cannot be heard here, they should go to the Supreme Court.
Lawyer Qazi Anwar argued that the Election Commission does not have the authority to declare intra-party elections null and void. PTI has contested the 2013 and 2018 elections on the bat symbol.
The court reserved its decision after the arguments of the parties were completed.
