Sudan: Health crisis intensifies, WHO's big demand from the international community

Geneva: The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on the international community to take urgent action to address the health and humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

According to global media reports, the WHO has called on the international community to increase financial support for Sudan, where the health crisis is becoming serious.

Tedros Adhanom, head of the organization, said on a social media website that most of the health facilities in the war-torn areas of Sudan are becoming inactive due to the civil war.

He added that the escalating humanitarian and health crises in Sudan, the displacement of millions of people, the majority of whom are children and women, and the worsening conflict require urgent global action.

It should be noted that the fighting between the Sudanese army chief Abdul Fattah al-Barhan and his former deputy Muhammad Hamdan Daglu (who is now the commander of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, para-militia) has been ongoing since April, leading to a civil war in Sudan. .

In this regard, the United Nations has also said that 5 million people have been forced to relocate after the start of the fighting in the Sudanese capital. While this month’s massive offensive by Paramalasia has destroyed one of the country’s few remaining shelters, more than 300,000 people are once again seeking shelter.
