Islamabad: The third phase of the elections will begin tomorrow, January 1, 2024. Candidates will appeal to the High Courts against the rejection of nomination papers.

The candidates whose papers were rejected for the national and provincial seats will appeal in the High Court from January 1 tomorrow.

The appeals will be collected in the High Court Tribunal from 1st to 3rd January and the Election Tribunal will start hearing them from 3rd January. The Election Tribunal will be bound by January 10 to decide on all appeals.

The Returning Officers will release the list of new candidates on January 11 and the candidates will be allotted election symbols on January 13. January 13 is scheduled for the scrutiny of papers for seats reserved for women and minorities.

All candidates, including former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, will challenge the RO’s decision on January 1 tomorrow. Candidates from districts Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum will approach High Court Pindi Bench.
