In Karachi, the results of class 9 science and general group have not been released, while the results of inter-year 1 have also not come out of the preparatory stage due to successive changes in the board, due to which schools of classes 9 and 11 and About 2 lakh students of the colleges are suffering from severe mental agony while due to the delay in the announcement of the Inter supplementary exams, it is feared that a few papers may be postponed due to the preparations for the general elections.
It should be remembered that the matriculation (9th and 10th) annual examinations of the year 2023 in Karachi were held in May, while the inter-year 11th class annual examinations were held in July. The matriculation board has not released the result of class 9 and neither the results of class 11 have been ready in the intermediate board.
According to the sources, the results of 9th grade science and general group are ready in the matriculation board, but there is no invigilator to sign these results. The Sindh government has also removed the invigilator exams of the secondary education board in its notification of 22 November. Even after a month, no officer has been appointed as the moderator of the examinations due to which the results have not been released.
According to Chairman Secondary Education Board Karachi Professor Sharaf Ali Shah, the department has been informed about this many times, but the matter is confused due to continuous questions and answers, the results are ready but due to the lack of proctored examinations, it is not possible to release them.
It should be noted that the number of students waiting for the results of class 9 in Karachi is around 100,000. The situation is that even after 7 months, these 100,000 students are not aware of their exam results. There is still time but the students don’t know how many papers they have passed and which papers they have to give for class 10 along with class 9 and in case of failure, how many or which papers they have to prepare for class 9.
On the other hand, according to the sources of Inter Board Karachi, Commissioner Karachi Saleem Rajput has organized a meeting of the Board of Governors and at the same time, the responsibilities of the Controller of Examination and Secretary Board have been assigned to two different officers, Deputy Controller Zahid Rashid and Deputy Secretary respectively for 2 weeks. Has been handed over to Haroon Rashid.
These two officers will be responsible for the day-to-day affairs of the given positions. It should be noted that like the matriculation board, the results of all the faculties of the 11th class are delayed in the inter board as well. These exams were held in July and their results will not be released this year, due to which the students of the first year of the inter board are also very mentally disturbed. It is being told that the examination copies of many subjects, including English, have not yet come out of the examination stage, while the examination of the copies of many subjects of Commerce Regular has also not been completed and it is likely that the Inter The supplementary exams will start but the first year results will remain pending.
On the other hand, the present administration of the Inter Board has delayed the supplementary examinations to such an extent that the last few papers in the schedule may be affected due to the general elections to be held in the country on February 8.
According to the schedule, the inter supplementary examinations starting from January 15, 2024 will continue till February 6, while the Election Commission is setting up polling stations in schools and colleges for which the control of these centers in connection with the preparations will be implemented several days in advance. In this case, it will not be possible to hold supplementary examinations in the centers until one day before the elections, due to which there is a possibility that many papers will be postponed and rescheduled. There will be further delays.
