Karachi: In Shahr Quaid, a businessman dealing in steel in the timber market was killed in broad daylight for non-payment of extortion, while in Orangi Town, robbers took the life of a young man.

According to Express News, 40-year-old businessman Shahzad Jafarani was killed by armed suspects in the shop and escaped easily for not paying extortion in Karachi’s well-known timber market. Shahzad Jafarani was a resident of Bahadurabad and a father of three children.

SSP City Amjad Hayat says that armed suspects on two motorcycles opened fire at a shop in the Timber Market near Mayo Shah Mosque, as a result of which the owner of the shop Shahzad Jafarani was killed.

After the businessman’s murder, a large number of shopkeepers rushed to the spot and the Crime Scene Unit inspected the spot. SSP City says that 2 shells and 1 shell of 9 mm pistol have been recovered from the spot which has been taken into custody.

After the shooting, the body of the businessman Shahzad Jafarani was shifted to the hospital for legal proceedings and after the legal proceedings the body was handed over to the family members. Every eye was teary-eyed and the relatives were overwhelmed with grief over the sad murder.

On this occasion, the businessmen said that the incidents of extortion in the city have started increasing again and the businessmen are getting extortion slips. The police is unable to take action against the extortionists which has resulted in the murder of Shahzad Jafarani.

Youth killed outside house in Orangi

Meanwhile, during the ongoing dacoit reign in the city, brutal dacoits killed another youth for resisting.

Motorcycle-riding bandits shot dead 25-year-old Raheel outside the house while snatching her mobile phone from near Siddique Akbar Masjid, Sector 14B, Bengali Para, Orangi Town.

According to preliminary information, the deceased was sitting outside the house and using his mobile phone when the robbers arrived. The young man resisted and caught one of the robbers, but in the meantime, his other accomplice opened fire on him.

Raheel was hit by a bullet in the chest, which killed him on the spot, while the robbers managed to escape from the spot. Police recovered 2 shell casings and 5 live rounds of 9 mm pistol from the incident site. The deceased was unmarried and employed in a garment factory.

The number of citizens who died during this year due to the brutal firing of bandits while in the city increased to 131 while hundreds of citizens were also injured.

The top police officers claim that there is a lack of street crimes in the city, but the facts on the ground seem to be quite the opposite.
