2023 has been a revolutionary year for the education of the blind

The project ‘Bolte Haruf’, which was started two years ago for the education of the blind in Pakistan, has been progressing steadily and has exposed special people to education at the national level with braille books prepared using modern technology. This project was started in 2021 by the youth of Karachi under the leadership of Hafiz Umar Farooq who in 2023 developed science as well as religious education in Braille books.

This year proved to be an important milestone for the special education of the blind in terms of secular and religious education.

Despite the fact that the number of blind people in Pakistan is more than two million, Braille textbooks are scarce here, while the existing Braille books are very expensive because they are made by hand, so the common man cannot afford them easily.

Many blind people are either unable to complete their education due to non-availability of scientific books or are forced to study in subjects in which they are not interested.

Apart from this, Talking Letters has also been honored with many domestic and foreign awards including the Prime Minister Innovation Award.

In view of the efforts and dedication of the speaking letters for the blind, it is being praised in Arab countries and different countries of the world, including Germany, so that the important work that this private company has undertaken. It should not only be encouraged, but this technology should be brought to other countries to get the most out of it and foster a future that paves the way for people with disabilities to succeed.
