Karachi: No government house or flat is currently being vacated by a retired employee or the widow of a deceased employee in federal residential colonies in Karachi, but the State Office is taking action to vacate those federal government houses and flats which has been occupied.

Officials said that reports that the State Office Karachi is vacating a government house or flat from a legally resident retired employee or the widow of a deceased employee are false. He said that the majority of retired employees who own government houses or flats are not paying “selling rent” as per law. These retired employees should automatically deposit their rent monthly in the State Bank.

He said that the Public Accounts Committee of the previous government had directed the State Office to deduct the rent of all retired government employees who have government houses or flats even after completing their service. , and send their records to AGPR (Accountant General Pakistan Revenue). Following these instructions, records of these employees are being sent to AGPR in a phased manner and AGPR is “deducting” the rent of these houses from the pension of the retired employees as per law.

Officials said that the decision to vacate or maintain the residence of retired government employees will be taken by the federal government and the orders received will be implemented. Currently, no notice is being issued to vacate houses or flats and no action is being taken in this regard. He said that in recent operations the State Office has vacated more than 600 government houses and flats in Karachi and all these operations have been done in accordance with the law.

Officials said that under the State Office in Karachi, there are 7852 government houses or flats in Pakistan Quarter, Martin Quarter, Jahangir Road, Clifton, FC Area and other federal residential colonies in which the families of serving, retired or deceased employees are located. are present. State Office Karachi is taking action to vacate most of them.

State office officials said that no orders have been issued to the AGPR regarding stopping the pension of old retired federal government employees or widows of deceased employees who own government houses or flats in Karachi. are The information circulating in this regard is wrong.

According to the State Office Karachi officials, the State Office cannot stop the pension of any retired government employee who has received NOC, a letter circulating in various circles in recent days states that the State Office has 12 A letter has been written to the federal departments, the impression is being spread about this letter that the state office has stopped the pension of all the retired employees who have government flats or houses after the NOC is issued. He said that such retired employees who have completed their service period and have been issued NOC by State Office after completion of all legal matters and are getting pension and have government house or flat. , no direction has been given to stop their pension and they will not be vacated any house or flat for the time being. The final decision in this regard will be in accordance with the policy of the federal government.

Officials of the State Office said that the federal employees who have retired from their departments in Karachi in the last few months, if they have government accommodation, NOC is not being issued to these government employees. The issuance of NOC was banned by the previous Federal Public Accounts Committee and this NOC is subject to vacating government flats or flats. is doing

He said that currently more than 200 NOC cases are with the State Office. These employees are retired from various government departments and have government flats or houses. He said that the State Office cannot cancel this decision of NOC. The Federal Public Accounts Committee, which will be established after the general elections, will decide whether to maintain or cancel this decision.

Top officials said that in recent times the state office has caught a few cases in which some retired employees had submitted fake NOSs to AGPR and tried to get their pension and dues. These fake NOC cases have been forwarded by AGPR to State Office. Letters have been sent to their respective departments to take action against these employees.

Officials said that if these retired employees vacate the government accommodation, we will issue NOC to them after which these employees can get their pension and dues from AGPR. All such federal departments, whose employees are allotted houses or flats by the State Office according to their grade, when their employees retire, the State Office has informed these departments by letter that they should consider the cases of their retired employees. Do not send directly to AGPR but first obtain NOC from State Office Karachi. Cooperation has been requested from these departments. The State Office is bound by the orders of the Federal Secretary, Ministry of Housing and DG State. These two senior officers are paying full attention to computerize all the departments of the department.

The officials of the State Office say that the retired employees living in the federal residential colonies of Karachi are requested that if the rent is not being deducted from their pension, they should immediately pay the rent of their house or flat from the rent section of the State Office Karachi.
