2 members of the gang who pretended to be government officials were arrested

The accused have stolen gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones and other valuables in several incidents

Karachi: 2 members of the gang who pretended to be government officials and robbed houses were arrested.

Sarjani Town Police, acting on technical grounds, arrested 2 suspects of a group of robberies in houses by pretending to be government officials and recovered illegal weapons, gold ornaments, mobile phones, wallets, LCDs and other items from their possession.

The robbery gang consists of 6 members, out of which 2 accused Arbaaz and Junaid Saraiki were arrested by the police. According to the police, the arrested accused used to carry out the incidents by changing their clothes, who have revealed their involvement in several incidents during the initial investigation.

On November 2, Ali Muhammad Goth, 36, entered a house in Sarjani with his companions and with the force of arms, Shahri Jamshed and his 10-year-old son were locked in a room with ropes and blindfolds, while the family members were shown weapons and looted gold from the cupboards. Jewellery, licensed 30 bore pistols, 80 thousand rupees and box packed mobile phones were stolen and escaped.

On September 19, the accused entered the house of a citizen named Abdul Khaliq in Sarjani Ajmergoth and pretended to be a government official and took the family hostage and escaped after stealing gold ornaments and cash.

On February 16, the accused entered the house of a woman named Noor Jahan in Sarjani Yaro Khan Goth and pretended to be police officers and after locking the people in the house in a room, they looted gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones and valuables from the cupboards and escaped.

On August 30, the arrested suspect along with his accomplices entered the house of a citizen named Bisharat in Sarjani Town area and stole Rs.

More than 9 cases have been registered against the accused in Sarjani Town, Pakistan Bazar police station. Police are conducting raids to arrest the other 4 accomplices of the accused.
