Karachi: Dawood University of Engineering and Technology has barred non-paying students from using the shuttle service and the shuttle service has been made on-demand.

The shuttle service has now started operating from within the university campus to different areas of the city, earlier the shuttle service used to board students from outside the campus.

However, now only students who have paid for the shuttle service for the entire semester and have transport cards are allowed to board the shuttle service, and the service is operated only by employees instead of employees. Reserved for paying students.

It has been learned that stones were pelted on the Dawood Engineering University bus in Sachal area on Monday, the windows of the bus were broken and it was damaged.

University Vice Chancellor Dr Samreen Hussain has confirmed this incident. He said that no student was reported injured in the incident as the point was returning to drop off students.

According to Dr. Samreen Hussain, the registrar of the university has been asked to file an FIR of the incident. He said that now it is impossible for people or students who want to board the buses without paying, which is why such reactions are coming.

Meanwhile, according to the details, out of the 2500 students enrolled in the university, around 800 are using the shuttle service. The new students of 2023 are being charged Rs 7,000 for transportation per semester, while the old students are paying Rs 8,000 to 10,000 per semester in this regard, based on the distance/km, because the per semester fee of old students is higher than that of new students. not enough.
