Fines for violating traffic rules in Karachi have been increased

Karachi: The traffic police has increased the amount of fines for violating the rules.

Driving a motorcycle in the wrong direction on the road in Shahr Quaid will be fined Rs 2,000 while driving a car or jeep will be fined Rs 3,000. Similarly, a fine of Rs 4,000 will be imposed on light traffic vehicles and Rs 5,000 on heavy traffic vehicles.

A fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on a motorcycle, Rs 500 on a car, jeep, and Rs 1,000 on a light and heavy traffic vehicle for disregarding or disobeying the traffic signal. A fine of Rs 500 will be imposed for riding a motorcycle without a safety helmet. A fine of Rs 1,200 on a motorcycle, Rs 1,500 on a car or jeep, Rs 2,000 on a light traffic vehicle and Rs 2,500 on a heavy traffic vehicle will be imposed for careless and careless driving.

Driving a motorcycle without a driving license will result in a fine of 1,000, 1,500 for a car or jeep, 2,000 for a light traffic vehicle and 2,500 for a heavy traffic vehicle. A fine of Rs 700 will be imposed on driving an unregistered motorcycle, Rs 1000 on a car or jeep, Rs 1500 on a light traffic vehicle and Rs 2 thousand on a heavy traffic vehicle.

Driving a minor person will be fined Rs 1,500 on a motorcycle, Rs 2,000 on a jeep, Rs 3,000 on a light traffic vehicle and Rs 4,000 on a heavy traffic vehicle. A fine of Rs 700 on a motorcycle, Rs 1,000 on a car or jeep, Rs 1,500 on a light traffic vehicle and Rs 2,000 on a heavy traffic vehicle will be imposed for driving faster than the prescribed limit.

A fine of Rs 600 for cars or jeeps, Rs 1500 for light traffic vehicles and Rs 2 thousand for heavy traffic will be imposed for carrying more than the prescribed number of passengers in passenger vehicles. For overloading vehicles carrying goods, a fine of Rs 1000 will be levied on light traffic vehicles and Rs 1500 on heavy traffic vehicles.

According to traffic police, the increase in fines will be effective from November 1. In this regard, the citizens have been appealed to ensure compliance with the law to avoid any kind of trouble.
