Despite the court order, the notification of the dismissal of the chairmen of the education boards could not be issued

Karachi: The Department of Universities and Boards is avoiding issuing the notification for the dismissal of the chairmen of 5 education boards of Sindh despite the clear orders of the court.

The Department of Universities and Boards has taken a middle way instead of a clear notification of the resignation of the chairmen of 5 education boards of Sindh on the court order and the issue of the resignation of the part-time chairman boards appointed without the selection of the search committee is relevant. It has been put on the boards.

In this regard, no clear notification has yet been issued by the Department of Universities and Boards asking them to vacate their posts immediately.

Instead, a vague letter has been issued to the chairmen of the 5 boards asking them to implement the Sindh High Court’s ongoing order on October 20.

It should be noted that the competent authority for the appointment of the chairmen of the boards in Sindh is the Chief Minister of Sindh and the Department of Universities and Boards is responsible for issuing the notification for the appointment, suspension or resignation of the chairmen of the education boards with the approval of the Chief Minister of Sindh.

When contacted by Express, a senior officer of the Sindh government said, “When the Department of Universities and Boards itself issued the notification regarding the appointment of the five relevant part-time chairmen, then the notification of their resignation was issued by the department itself.” Why is it taking back and forth in releasing it?

He further said that instead of a clear notification, what is the meaning of issuing a vague letter as its covering letter with a court order, this official of the Sindh government said that it seems that the concerned department itself has appointed these part-time chairmen. Wants to retain the positions.

The reason for this is that once a clear notification of the resignation of these five part-time chairmen is issued by the Department of Universities and Boards, their return would be almost impossible.

The said officer said that therefore it is felt that these chairmen of the boards are being given an opportunity to somehow appeal to the court for reconsideration of the decision or injunction to remain in their positions.

At this time only through a letter these chairmen have been asked to comply with the court orders while the court orders to be complied with is the work of the department itself.

It should be noted that in its letter, the Department of Universities and Boards has recommended the implementation of the court orders to the chairmen of Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas and Larkana Education Boards including Inter Board Karachi.

On the other hand, the secretary of an education board, on the condition of anonymity, said, “We have also received this letter from the department and we are being asked to implement this court order.”

The secretary board said that the authority to appoint and dismiss all the chairman, secretaries and controller of examination, including me, is the department itself, then how can we resign our chairmen by ourselves, this notification has to be issued by the department itself.

On the other hand, the situation in the education boards is dire, the chairman of Inter Board Karachi has not come to the office for the last 2 days and the office of the chairman board was empty even till Wednesday afternoon.

Sources say that after the court order, the chairman of the Hyderabad board has also been absent from the office for four days, but apparently no chairman has left the charge.

“Express” continuously tried to contact the Secretary Universities and Boards Noor Samu on this situation, called him and also asked questions about the matter through SMS, but he kept avoiding contact.
