Caretaker Information Technology (IT) Minister Dr. Umar Saif says that the IT industry will now be allowed to keep 50 percent of its revenue in the form of dollars and use it freely.
Dr. Umar Saif recently told a private TV channel that there are difficulties in bringing dollars to Pakistan, keeping them here and using them, that’s why many IT companies in Pakistan have to bring dollars here. was closed, Pakistani IT companies were opening their companies outside and keeping dollars there.
He says that currently Pakistan’s IT export volume is 2.6 billion dollars, it is actually around 3.5 or 4 billion dollars.
Dr. Umar Saif said that this matter was going on for a long time, and for the convenience of Pakistani IT companies, it has been decided recently in the meeting of the Apex Committee that the IT companies of Pakistan should have their offices in Pakistan. 50% can not only keep the revenue in dollar form but also use their money freely.
He said that earlier IT companies were allowed to keep only 35% of dollars, due to the ban many companies had opened their accounts abroad, with this decision IT companies will be able to transfer their accounts from abroad to Pakistan. .
Caretaker Federal Minister Umar Saif has said that in the future there will be no restriction on any Pakistani IT company to use 50% of its revenue in dollars.
He has also said that in the last 4 to 5 weeks, all stakeholders have been taken on board and not only 50 percent dollar retention accounts will be created but they will also be allowed to use them freely.
