Mumbai: Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has made a surprising revelation about the remuneration of his film ‘Haider’.
In a recent interview, the actor said that he did not even take a rupee for director Vishal Bhardwaj’s film.
Explaining the reason for making the film ‘Haider’ free, the actor said that the film’s team could not afford their fees and thus the project was feared to go sour.
He said that the budget of the film was low and the team told him that the project was experimental and had a short budget and if they were given a fee, it would be difficult to make the film.
Shahid Kapoor explained that it was only once that he worked for free because he also had to run the house.
It should be noted that ‘Haider’ was derived from famous writer Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’ and in it the crisis life of a Kashmiri youth was filmed.
