Islamabad: The Special Official Secrets Act Court accepted Asad Umar’s pre-arrest bail plea in the cipher case.
Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain granted the bail in light of the FIA prosecutor’s statement. Asad Umar was directed to submit a surety bond of 50 thousand rupees.
FIA Prosecutor Shah Khawar Advocate gave an important statement in the court and said that there is no need to arrest Asad Umar at this time because there is no evidence against him but we will see if the evidence comes out during the investigation. Asad Umar was not named in the FIR, the court should record my statement.
Asad Umar’s lawyer Babar Awan said that ask Shah Khawar not to interfere in the court proceedings. Shah Khawar Advocate said that if any evidence comes out in the future, Asad Umar will be informed.
Cipher case was heard against Chairman PTI, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar in the Official Secret Act Court.
