Karachi: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has restored all accounts of the national airline (PIA).
PIA has given a written assurance of payment this month after which PIAF will pay Rs 2.50 crore to FBR this month. A total of 8 billion rupees has to be paid by PIA.
FBR had frozen all the bank accounts of PIA a week ago for non-payment of federal excise duty and PIA was facing severe financial difficulties due to the freezing of bank accounts.
Freezing of bank accounts has delayed the release of August salaries to PIA employees.
