Mumbai: Anil Sharma, the director of Bollywood blockbusters ‘Ghadr 1’ and ‘Ghadr 2’ has revealed that actor Govinda refused to work in the film due to Hindu-Muslim conflict.
In a recent conversation with the Indian media, the film director said that Govinda was not formally invited for the role of Tara Singh in the film and when he was told the short story, he refused.
According to Anil Sharma, his eyes were on Sunny Deol for the lead role of ‘Ghadr’ from the beginning as he wanted to cast a Punjabi actor in the film.
According to the director, one day when he told the story of the film to Govinda, the actor thought that he wanted to work with the actor in the film, but he immediately refused due to the Hindu-Muslim conflict.
He further said that from a short conversation, Govinda got the wrong idea that he was offered the role of the film, although it was not.
