Rawalpindi: The car of a family returning from Umrah met with an accident, in which 5 people including a woman died.
According to the police, the family’s car, which was leaving for Gujranwala from Islamabad Airport, met with an accident near Rawat T Chowk in Rawalpindi. 5 people including a woman died and 8 were injured in the accident that took place at the time of Suhoor.
According to the Hamak police station, the vehicle collided with a 22-wheeler trawler parked near Rawat Chowk, after which Rescue 1122 reached the spot on receiving information and pulled out the people trapped in the vehicle and shifted the injured and dead bodies to Pims Hospital. According to initial reports, the accident occurred due to the driver falling asleep.
The driver of High S is also among those who died in the terrible accident, while 8 people including 4 women were also injured in the accident. The vehicle involved in the accident was completely destroyed.
Islamabad Police has taken the affected vehicle into custody and started an investigation to find out the causes of the accident, however, according to the preliminary investigation, four members of the same family are among the people who died in the accident. The affected family was going to Gujranwala from Islamabad Airport after performing Umrah.
Among the deceased are 45-year-old Mehreen, 28-year-old Danish, 52-year-old Mian Idris, 62-year-old Haji Shafiq and 65-year-old Haji Nazir, while the injured include Rehana, Ashwar, Arham, Huma Imran, Arsam and Kiniz.
