FBR unearths massive tax evasion scam, three Customs officers dismissed after being found guilty of tax evasion.
According to FBR, these three officers of the Customs Department caused a loss of 7 billion rupees to the exchequer by facilitating tax evasion.
The FBR says that a special fact-finding inquiry found the three officers guilty, after which they were dismissed.
According to the document, the three customs officers were found involved in clearing valuable watches, mobile phones, cosmetics and other items.
They made 81 illegal goods declarations in 2019-20 using the name of a charity, out of which 80 goods declarations were cleared but only one was caught.
