Lahore: IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has announced to award Shujaat medal to the brave men of the force who have shown extraordinary performance against criminals.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar says that after Eid, they are starting the process of giving gallantry medals to the officers and personnel. A cash award will also be given as a reward along with Shujaat.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that only martyrs and injured youth are not entitled to medals, nor should medals be given only by the federal government.
He said that this year, Punjab Police has taken four times more bullets than last year in operations against dacoits, terrorists and drug dealers. Police APCs were attacked several times by rocket launchers.
IG Punjab further said that CTD, Patrolling, Special Branch, Special Protection Unit, Dolphin men took bullets and foiled the attacks on police stations.
He said that the police did not retreat from any position while serving and protecting the life and property of the citizens.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal, PPM, Shahada and Ghazi medals are apart from this medal. The award will be given in a dignified and dignified ceremony by inviting the family to the Central Police Office.
The IG Punjab said that after the security of Eid-ul-Azha, the police is facing other challenges, including the peaceful conduct of Muharram. I will spare no effort.
